Retaining Effective Teachers Policy
The state should support differential pay for effective teaching in shortage and high-needs areas.
Florida supports differential pay by which a teacher can earn additional compensation by teaching certain subjects or working at a school classified as high-needs. Under Florida's new salary schedule, teachers will be provided salary supplements for teaching in a Title I eligible school or a school in the bottom two categories of the school improvement system as well as for teaching in critical teaching-shortage areas.
