As we've described earlier, the type of accountability and transparency our National Review envisions for higher ed's teacher prep programs got no warmer a reception during the federal Department of Ed's recent negotiated rulemaking than we've encountered.  But the calls for increased accountability are not limited to teacher prep; the drumbeat is building for institutions of higher ed in general to show the public that they are worthy of its confidence and support.
