Thomas Lasley

Thomas Lasley (Tom) is CEO Emeritus and Director, Policy and Advocacy for the Montgomery County Educational Service Center and Learn to Earn Dayton, which is a collaborative dedicated to ensuring that "every student will be ready to learn when entering kindergarten, ready to learn when graduating from high school, and ready to earn a living when graduating with a post-secondary credential." He was most recently dean of the School of Education and Health Sciences at the University of Dayton. He has published more than 70 articles in professional journals and has authored or co-authored 13 books, including Teaching Peace and Strategies for Teaching in a Diverse Society. Dr. Lasley has served on a variety of regional and state education commissions and boards, including the Governor's Commission on Teaching Success. He co-founded the Dayton Early College Academy, a unique educational partnership between the University of Dayton and the Dayton Public Schools and Learn to Earn Dayton, which is a non-profit focused on educational attainment. Dr. Lasley received his Ph.D. in education from Ohio State University.
