On January 29, 2008, NCTQ will release the 2008 State Teacher Policy Yearbook: What States Can Do to Retain Effective Teachers. There is no shortage of data that show a significant percentage of teachers leave just at the time they are becoming consistently effective. However, at the same point in time, too many teachers who have not become consistently effective achieve permanent status. This year's Yearbook evaluates state policies and offers a comprehensive blueprint for reform.
