Is It True There's No Such Thing As Bad Publicity?

For those of you who have been on Mars the past two weeks, you might have missed that Secretary Paige called the NEA a "terrorist organization." As an online column from the Education Intelligence Agency pointed out this week, Paige's remark, however foolish it may have been, has had the unexpected benefit of providing the NEA with some much needed publicity and distraction at a time when the organization is quietly suffering a costly decline in membership. To make up for the lost revenue, the NEA is reportedly going to be nixing the fancy entertainment and international guests of years' past at their annual NEA Representative Assembly and asking delegates to approve an increase to the so-called "ballot initiative/legislative crisis fund." Also, for reasons that have not been made public, the NEA is also under investigation by the U.S. Department of Labor. Maybe Secretary Chao will call them names too.
