NCTQ recently did some digging into the magnitude of layoffs in school districts across the country. Despite the White House sounding the alarm, and newspapers doing the same during pink-slip season, most of the 74 districts who responded to our survey seem to be coping with their financial situation better than predicted: teacher layoffs seem to be a last resort.
