British teachers unions are mad as heck--and they're not going to take it anymore. Now, due to a new labor agreement, they don't have to. Following an agreement between the British government and most of the nation's teachers unions, British teachers no longer have to perform routine tasks. Indeed, there is a list of 25 tasks that U.K. teachers are now prohibited from performing--they shall instead be done by classroom aides--in order that they can better concentrate on teaching. "Routine" tasks such as putting up classroom displays, bulk photocopying, investigating a pupil's absence, and collecting money from pupils and parents is now strictly forbidden. Jeeves, hand me my chalk.
