The American Board for Certification of Teacher Excellence (ABCTE) announced last week that it has certified its first group of teachers, awarding to eleven individuals their Passport to Teaching certification. This first group to pass through this promising alternative route can now be hired to teach in any of the three states that have adopted the ABCTE ? Pennsylvania, Idaho and Florida.
