The National Council on Teacher Quality (NCTQ) announced today that the Council of the Great City Schools (CGCS), an organization that represents sixty- five superintendents from urban public schools, has formally endorsed NCTQ’s national review of teacher preparation programs that will be released in conjunction with U.S. News & World Report in late 2012. The CGCS endorsement follows the recent announcement of support by eight school chiefs from Chiefs for Change.
